How to report

If you believe you have been the subject of inappropriate, discriminatory or harassing conduct based on a protected status–or have been subjected to retaliation for reporting such conduct–please report the conduct verbally or in writing to one of the following:

How to file a complaint outside of Metro

Employees also have the right to file complaints of employment discrimination to entities outside of Metro.

The King County Civil Rights Program

The Civil Rights Program in the Office of Equity and Social Justice enforces the King County Fair Employment Practices Ordinance, KCC 12.18 in unincorporated areas of King County and when King County is the employer.

The Washington State Human Rights Commission

The Commission investigates discrimination in employment across the entire state of Washington, including King County. Call 1-800-233-3247 or file a complaint online.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)

The EEOC enforces and investigates federal civil rights law in employment. Complaints may be made to the Seattle Field Office or by calling 1-800-669-4000.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The EAP is a free county resource that provides county employees with counseling and coaching for work-related concerns and problems.

Making Life Easier

Making Life Easier provides free services for personal counseling, legal and financial services, childcare services, and adult and elder care services.

Safety at work

Metro Transit employees are to report vehicle accidents, security incidents or any unsafe events through the Security and Safety Management System (SSaM)–on-site or VPN required. For emergency situations, review King County’s workplace safety guidelines.
